N. Vijay Siva

N. Vijay Siva (born 29 March 1967) is an eminent Carnatic music singer who exibited rare intuitive capacity to identify ragas at the age of four. He first learnt Carnatic music from his mother, Akhila Siva, who was a vocal musician from Carnatic Music College, Chennai. He later learnt music from D.K. Jayaraman and D.K. Pattammal. Vijay Siva is also an accomplished mridangist, and received training from Kumbakonam Rajappa Iyer. Hehas been awarded many titles and has given a number of concerts in important centres in India. He participated in the Music Festivals of Sangeet Natak Academy -one at Bhubhaneshwar as a Mridangist and another at Chennai as Vocalist. He also toured USA, Singapore and Canada. He is the founder Secretary of the Youth Association for Classical Music (YACM), an organization to promote young musicans and rasikas.
