Vaidyanathan Suresh is one of the rare artistes with an aesthetic approach to performing on any percussion instrument. Suresh can adapt with remarkable speed & precision the techniques of any kind of drumming. Dynamic, mellifluous and aesthetically aggressive is how he would like to identify his style. His uncompromising adherence to tradition together with his innovativeness has brought laurels for Suresh from the doyens of Carnatic music. He has learnt the techniques of playing on a variety of South Indian percussion instruments like Mridangam, Kanjira, Thavil, Konnakkol and Dolki. He has worked with greats the world over and also performed in prestigious international music festivals.
